The firm

Built for the year after the accident.

Prescott Injury Law was founded in Detroit in 2001 to represent people — never insurers — in claims that change the course of a family's finances.

Plaintiff-side only

Why we only represent injured people

Defense work teaches you how a claim is dismantled. After several years on that side, Daniel Prescott left it to build a practice around the person holding the medical bills — not the carrier writing the check.

The firm has never represented an insurance company. That is a deliberate constraint: it keeps the incentives simple and the advice honest, and it means we are never in the position of arguing both sides of the same statute in the same year.

Most of our clients come from referrals by former clients, treating physicians, and other attorneys who would rather not handle a personal injury file themselves.

Attorney

Daniel R. Prescott

Founding partner · State Bar of Michigan

Daniel has tried personal injury cases in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw counties for more than two decades. His practice focuses on commercial truck litigation and complex auto claims, where the insurance carrier arrives with its own reconstruction expert and a litigation plan.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School, and has served as a court-appointed mediator in Wayne County Circuit Court. He speaks at continuing legal education programs on no-fault coverage and spoliation of evidence.

“A client should never have to call the office twice to find out what happened in their own case.”

The attorneys

Five lawyers. No case managers.

Every file is worked by one of these five attorneys, from the first call to the final distribution of funds.

How we practice

Three rules we do not bend.

01

A small caseload, on purpose

We accept a limited number of matters each year so that every file is worked by an attorney, not passed to a case manager.

02

The client decides

You see every offer and every evaluation. We give a recommendation, and the decision to settle or file is always yours.

03

Costs we carry

Investigators, records, and experts are paid by the firm while the case is pending. You are not billed as it moves.
